Jansen Aw is a Partner of the Disputes & Specialist Practice. He leads the Technology and Data Protection Team and is a
member of the Healthcare Law Team and Criminal Litigation Team.
Jansen has acted in a wide range of corporate and civil litigation, and arbitration matters. His main practice areas include
commercial litigation and arbitration, data protection and technology, medical negligence and building and construction. He
has also acted in criminal matters under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme.
In the areas of technology and data protection, Jansen has acted for clients from a wide range of industries including media,
technology and telecommunications fields. His experience covers both contentious and non-contentious work. Jansen advises
clients on technology, telecommunications and data protection regulation and enforcement, cybersecurity issues, and media
content-related legal issues. Specific to data protection, Jansen advises and represents clients on data breaches, data
protection management programmes and data protection policies, notices and agreements.
Jansen was previously an Assistant Chief Counsel of the Personal Data Protection Commission (Singapore), handling enforcement
matters. He has obtained several qualifications in privacy and data protection, namely, CIPP/A, CIPP/E, and CIPM, and is an
FIP with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Jansen graduated from the National University of Singapore with a LL.B (Hons.) in 2010. He was admitted as an Advocate and
Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2011.
