Eric Tin is a Partner and Co-Head of the Disputes & Specialist Practice. He leads the Healthcare Law Team and Criminal Litigation Team.

Eric specialises in prosecution of regulatory offences for statutory boards, criminal defence, as well as medical, civil, and commercial litigation. He has also advised and represented doctors and dentists in a variety of claims, complaints, inquiries and professional regulatory matters.

He has acted as lead counsel at trial and appellate levels before the Court of Appeal, High Court and State Courts, and disciplinary tribunals. Some of his notable cases include the Brompton Bicycle false information case, the River Valley High Principal false information case, the Paradise Group gas meter tampering case, the first local casino illegal moneylending case, and a landmark Court of Appeal case which clarified the law on unconditional bankruptcy discharge involving a judgment debt of S$31 million.

Prior to entering private practice in 2008, Eric served the Singapore Judiciary as District Judge, Magistrate, Coroner, State Courts Deputy Registrar, Small Claims Tribunals Referee, and later the Attorney-General’s Chambers as Deputy Public Prosecutor and State Counsel.

Eric has been an Adjudicator of the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC) since 2009. He is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

Eric graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1996 with an LL.B (Hons.) and obtained an LL.M in 2005 from NUS under a Singapore Legal Service scholarship.
