Gary Chua is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice.

As a registered Singapore Patent Attorney, Gary is involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications for various fields of technology, including semiconductor devices, telecommunications, computer engineering and software. He also handles the conduct of patent validity and infringement analysis, and clearance searches.

Gary is also experienced in IP management. Prior to his current appointment, Gary was leader of the Intellectual Property Group at a Japanese research centre based in Singapore, where he was in charge of the formulation and implementation of intellectual property strategies for the effective protection and commercialisation of developed healthcare products.

Gary was awarded a scholarship by a leading American multinational corporation to pursue Electrical Engineering at the National University of Singapore where he graduated in 2004 with a B.Eng (Hons.), majoring in communications technology. Thereafter, he spent three years in the capacity of Product Engineer which saw him responsible for product start-ups and yield improvement of electronics manufacturing with the said multinational corporation. He was also seconded to the headquarters in the United States, where he was involved in the development and validation of new generation dynamic random access memory architecture and was responsible for the transfer of new product technologies to the Singapore facility.

Gary is a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys.
