Ng Wee Jin is Of Counsel in the Disputes & Specialist, and Corporate and Commercial Practices. He leads the Financial Services Team. He specialises in the mediation, adjudication and training of financial disputes.

Prior to joining Donaldson & Burkinshaw, Wee Jin was the founding Chief Executive Officer of Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Ltd (FIDReC) for 14 years.

As a FIDReC Adjudicator, he has adjudicated numerous financial disputes including the highest claim, to date, for S$729,000. He is also an experienced FIDReC Accredited Mediator.

At FIDReC, Wee Jin also served as Chief Trainer, where he designed and conducted professional training for finance professionals in issues such as mis-selling, misrepresentation, unsuitable products/sales and complaints management/negotiation.

Wee Jin regularly shares his expertise with international regulatory, government, industry and academic delegations. Of note are delegations led by His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Alois, the Crown Prince of the Principality of Liechtenstein; the World Bank; Association of Southeast Asian Nations; and United Nations. He has also been invited to speak at various forums, including the 2nd Monetary Authority of Singapore-China Securities Regulatory Commission Supervisory Roundtable in 2017.

Wee Jin holds experience in private practice and has also previously established the Insurance Disputes Resolution Organisation (IDRO), with proven track record in the operations of a cost-effective Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) institution.

Wee Jin graduated with a LL.B (Hons.) from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and was admitted as Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1998.

In Law school, he was on the Dean’s List and was a recipient of multiple awards and prizes including the Allen & Gledhill Scholarship, Kwa Geok Choo Scholarship, Harvard Club of Singapore Book Prize, Blackstone Prize, Shook Lin & Bok Prize, and Law Society of Singapore Book Prize.
