Khong Yoke Chan is a Patent Engineer in the Intellectual Property Practice, specialising in patents and trademarks matters.

She oversees patent and trademark portfolios of local and international clients. Yoke Chan is involved in the prosecution and maintenance of patents and trademarks in Singapore and the region. She also drafts patent specifications, conducts clearance searches, and provides advice on strategy for the general protection and exploitation of trademarks and patents.

Yoke Chan’s previous experience was with the Registry of Patents at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), where she was in charge of development and operation of IPOS’s internal patents electronic system and assisted the public and external practitioners with patent filing and prosecution.

While with IPOS, Yoke Chan supported in the drafting of amendments to various Patents Practice Directions, conducted in-depth research on intellectual property issues, and assisted with the drafting of legal papers and reports, such as the APEC-IPEG reports.

Yoke Chan has represented IPOS at a number of overseas engagements, and has also conducted trainings and presentations for IPOS’s staff, public, and delegates visiting IPOS.

Yoke Chan graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a B. Eng (Hons.) (Civil and Structural Engineering) in 2000 and obtained a LL.B (Hons.) Degree in 2008. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law (Merit), awarded in 2009.
