Yixian is a Salaried Partner with the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
She has worked on a variety of commercial litigation and arbitration disputes relating to different aspects of law including
commercial contracts, tenancy and land law, family, probate, defamation, employment and insolvency. She also has experience
dealing with matters relating to shipping and admiralty, international trade and commodities, energy market, insurance and
logistics.
Yixian has experience in the advice and prosecution (under fiat by the Public Prosecutor as well as private prosecution) of
offences under the Electricity Act (Cap. 89A), the Gas Act (Cap. 116A) and the Copyright Act (Cap. 63). She has acted as
defence counsel in defending criminal charges including offences under the Penal Code (Cap. 224), Moneylenders Act (Cap. 188),
Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act (Cap. 184) and Prevention of Corruption Act (Cap. 241).
With a keen interest in medico-legal work, Yixian has assisted, advised and represented doctors in a variety of medical
negligence and malpractice claims, professional misconduct complaints and disciplinary proceedings before the Singapore
Medical Council.
Yixian graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree in 2008. She was admitted
as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2009.
